2021 - 2 - Ounce - Silver Werewolf

The Royal Canadian Mint's 2-ounce silver Werewolf coin was released in 2021 as the second issue in the "Creatures of the North" bullion series. The coin features a detailed illustration of a werewolf and also includes advanced security measures.

Obverse design

• The obverse (front) of the coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt.
• It also includes the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "D.G. REGINA," the year of issue (2021), and the coin's $10 legal tender value.
• For security, the obverse field is engraved with precise radial lines. 

Reverse design

• The reverse (back), designed by Gerald Gloade, depicts a fearsome werewolf crouching in a moonlit forest.
• Inscriptions on the reverse include the country of origin ("CANADA"), the weight and purity ("FINE SILVER 2 OZ ARGENT PUR"), and the purity level ("9999").
• A micro-engraved maple leaf is a special security feature visible on the coin's reverse.
