1915 Mexico Chihuahua 5 Pesos Revolutionary Banknote – El Estado de Chihuahua - VF
1915 Mexico 5 Pesos banknote was issued by El Estado de Chihuahua during the height of the Mexican Revolution, under the military decree of February 10, 1914. These emergency issues played a critical role in regional commerce at a time when federal coinage and stable currency were in short supply.
The obverse features paired portrait medallions flanking the bold denomination “Cinco Pesos”, with official signatures of the Tesorero General, Gobernador, and Interventor. Serial numbers appear in red, with classic Chihuahua-era typography and border engraving.
The reverse displays an engraved view of the Government Palace of Chihuahua, framed by allegorical figures and ornate security borders. A visible official treasury stamp/seal remains present, adding historical authenticity typical of circulated revolutionary-era notes.
