2000 Venezuela 2000 Bolívares Banknote – Banco Central de Venezuela – Harpy Eagle – UNC

CA$5.00

2000 Venezuela 2000 Bolívares banknote is an eye-catching issue from the Banco Central de Venezuela, released prior to Venezuela’s later redenominations and hyperinflation period. Notes from this era are increasingly collected as representatives of pre-crisis Venezuelan currency.

The obverse features an impressive depiction of the Harpy Eagle (Águila Harpía), one of South America’s most powerful and iconic birds of prey. The eagle is shown in remarkable engraved detail, set against a scenic background referencing Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its tepuis and waterfalls. The denomination Dos Mil Bolívares (2000) is prominently displayed, along with the Venezuelan coat of arms and intricate multicolour security patterns.

The reverse displays a portrait of an indigenous Venezuelan woman, symbolizing the country’s rich native heritage and cultural diversity. The portrait is framed by complex geometric designs, fine line engraving, and latent security features typical of late-20th-century Venezuelan banknote production. Serial numbering and official signatures are clearly visible.
